do NOT forget about ramen

so it's been a while.
week 4 of my third quarter at CPP
very warm
very sunny
not at all moderate in UV levels
and the ducks are mean little tramps
but not as much as the turtles.
those buggers are evil and they scare the fish.

here in sunny SoCal, what we trade for a very moderate clime is a greater risk of skin cancer and heat and dry spells.
specifically the LA basin the chaparral (here's a vocab word)
there are three seasons
wet season where its colder and rainier and lasts about two inches
dry season which is 90% of the time
and flu season when some people almost resort to drinking hand sanitizer.

other thoughts:
the lovebird hates me a bit less
there's a new member in the budgie family
we're naming him "Eyelashes" on account he's got very long eyelashes
birds have eyelashes
my eldest chicken-friend is getting old
and getting all the complications associated with old age

i've actually lost weight, that's bad
well. not that bad, but definitely not good considering i didn't have much to begin with

i'm slowly losing my ability to type
but my penmanship's been faster

i recently bought calligraphy ink and am reducing the art of calligraphy to notetaking
but my penmanship's not that pretty
it's fast but not easy on the eyes

i've discovered that repetitive geometric shapes make my eyes get unfocused
and that's bad considering i've got to walk over cobbled walkways on my way to class
and i tend to look down at what i'm walking on
because one time i didn't and that time hurt

updates:
i've given myself 10 new prompts that i'm not at all working on
moping around and not generally studying is what i'm doing most of the time
or sleeping
i've been getting sleepy lately
very sleepy

they made us read the Great Gatsby
i found it not important
or not as important as other classmates made it seem
they focused more on the characters' flaws instead of the historical context which provided the circumstance for the flaw
but that's not important.

i wrote 8 new poems
and i'm not going to post them on the internet because i'm too emotionally attached
maybe when i'm published eh?

side note:
there's this thing about college frat boys that make them think whispering is at normal voice level
and that wearing a teeshirt makes everything automatically masculine
and that wearing a tank with sporty words on the top reaffirms their masculinity
when confronted with a flat chested young woman like me
who only wanted vegetables today because i chipped a tooth the other day and chewy things make it more sensitive and painful
and had the gall to wonder if i was female.

don't get me wrong, there are fraternities that actually are decent
but the ones i'm talking about
were the party goers and general douchebags.
